Silence Wedge

Back when bands would send in tapes, Aunty received a neatly packaged cassette with the instructions, ‘play this at full volume’.  Aunty did as told, closed the caravan door, put the ear muffs on the bird, and hit play on the Panasonic twin deck. It was a life affirming 90 minutes, marked by moments of intrigue and insight, the many faces of life idling by, broken only by the noise generated by changing the sides of the tape.

The band that sent the tape go by the name Silence Wedge, and they’ve been playing Meredith, at full volume, for many years.  You don’t want to miss Silence Wedge, the abstaining hit of every Meredith that converts Friday into Saturday and Saturday into Sunday.
